The healing power of Reiki is an ancient technique used to treat all kinds of conditions. A healing session is both relaxing and nurturing. We offer one‐to‐one healing sessions for individuals and tuition for those wishing to learn Reiki for themselves and to benefit others.

 What is Reiki?

Reiki is a non‐intrusive form of hands‐on healing. It is a relaxing experience from which the body learns to heal itself. Techniques handed down from Master to student over centuries and the dedicated, holistic nature of its practitioners, give Reiki something of a sacred art form. Reiki is a type of ‘energy medicine’ which aims to balance and harmonise the body’s processes so that healing can take place, often releasing old patterns of emotional stress and illness.

What happens in a treatment?

Lying on a therapy couch or sitting comfortably in a chair, fully clothed, the Practitioner places their hands gently on or just above the body at various places: over the head, around the throat and shoulders, the chest, abdomen, legs, feet and back, as a general rule. The procedure will be explained before you begin and make sure it will be comfortable and appropriate for you. You will experience a gentle relaxation, possibly some heat or cool sensations and be pleasantly energised by the end of the treatment.

Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Symptoms may cease altogether and be alleviated from the first treatment or several sessions may be required; treatments are as individual as you are. Sometimes a condition becomes more aggravated in the first 24hrs after a treatment, before becoming settled. Reiki creates a sense of overall wellbeing and greater awareness, generally helping you feel better and able to deal with any illness or issues more positively.

What can Reiki treat?

Reiki can treat most conditions, in both adults and children. It helps with pain, stress, emotional distress, mild depression and symptoms of both major and minor illness. Reiki aids relaxation, clears symptoms, re‐balances the entire system and assists the integration of mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.

How do I learn Reiki?

Anyone can learn Reiki. It is part of a tradition handed down from Master to student since ancient times. Lynn learned from two Masters and has been a fully qualified Master herself since 1998. Terry also learned from two different Masters, qualifying  in 2004. Reiki is given to the student by attunements. These are degrees or levels of energy passed directly from the Master in time‐honoured fashion, along with information and teaching appropriate to each degree. They are offered as 1st 2nd & 3rd or Mastery levels, plus additional teaching for Masters wishing to become professional teaching practitioners.

Reiki Attunements and tuition are of 2–3 days duration and students usually require a period of at least six months integration between levels. Lynn recommends additional study and familiarisation with various healing modalities to complete an holistic understanding of Reiki.
